Faulkner Project
I decided to read every Faulkner novel, back-to-back, in chronological order of writing. Here is a list of every novel written by William Faulkner, with my review of each.
The Novels
-
            The Chronological Faulkner Project
So I’ve decided to read every Faulkner novel, back-to-back, in chronological order of writing.
 -
            Soldiers’ Pay
Faulkner’s first novel is a doozy. Maybe not his best work, but a great start to a career.
 -
            Mosquitoes
Faulkner’s second novel. If not having success with writing, at least having fun with it.
 -
            Flags in the Dust
You say Sartoris, I say Flags in the Dust
 -
            The Sound and the Fury
The fourth novel is when Faulkner becomes Faulkner.
 -
            As I Lay Dying
I can only imagine that things only get richer from here.
 -
            Sanctuary
         Beautiful, but off-putting.
 -
            Light in August
         Ah. This is the stuff.
 -
            Pylon
And then there’s *Pylon* out of nowhere.
 -
            Absolam, Absolam
In *Absolam, Absolam* Faulkner turns the story into a myth.
 -
            The Unvanquished
Not Faulkner at his most enlightened.
 -
            The Wild Palms
I have a feeling we’re not in Yoknapatawpha County anymore.
 -
            The Hamlet
Ah, back to good ol Yoknapatawpha County.
 -
            Go Down, Moses
         Back to experimentation.
 -
            Intruder in the Dust
This project is taking its toll.
 -
            Requiem for a Nun
A flawed book and a depressing story.
 -
            A Fable
I get the feeling we’re not in Yoknapatawpha anymore.
 -
            The Town
         The trilogy.
 -
            The Mansion
         Finishing the trilogy.
 -
            The Reivers
         Completing the project.
